Starting Tuesday, Burger King will make $1 Whopper sandwiches a reality for a limited time.
The fast food chain is saying "thanks a million" to all Royal Perks loyalty program members for their participation in the "Million Dollar Whopper Contest," which gave customers the chance to reimagine the signature hamburger with toppings of their choice in exchange for $1 million and the opportunity to see the custom creation offered at Burger King restaurants nationwide for a limited time.
Over a million Whopper-fanatics, Burger King says, submitted their "dream" Whopper sandwich when the official deadline closed in March, two months after the company first unveiled the contest. Customers can taste test and vote on which of the three custom Whopper creations, including Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper and Mexican Street Corn Whopper, will take the crown starting Thursday.
One million Whoppers will be offered at a discount to Royal Perks rewards members at participating Burger King locations nationwide while supplies last, according to a Monday news release.
"We couldn’t think of any better way to recognize and celebrate our biggest Whopper lovers than with a special offer that lets everyone feel like a winner,” Pat O'Toole, marketing executive at Burger King North American, said in the news release. "We can’t wait to hear how Guests think these three new creations stack up to the classic and look forward to them ultimately crowning the winner of the $1 million grand prize.”

How to get Burger King's $1 Whopper
Royal Perks loyalty program members can redeem the $1 Whopper deal on the Burger King app in the "offers" tab.
Burger King's deal will only be available "while supplies last" and only one, $1 Whopper can be redeemed per customer starting Tuesday. To find your nearest Burger King restaurant or to sign up for the Royal Perks loyalty program, visit Burger King's website.
Burger King names 3 'Million Dollar Whopper Contest' finalists
Only customers lucky enough to dine at participating Burger King locations will get the chance to try out and vote for the "three innovative takes on the flagship sandwich" on Thursday while supplies last. Two of the finalists chosen are from California and the third finalist hails from Nebraska, according to Burger King.
The three "Million Dollar Whopper Contest" finalists are:
- Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper: Featuring one fourth pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with creamy pickle ranch, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. Fabian from California came up with the idea for the "Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper."
- Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper: Featuring one fourth pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions and jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. Calvin from California came up with idea for the "Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper."
- Mexican Street Corn Whopper: Featuring one fourth pound flame-grilled beef patty, topped with creamy street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crunchy tortilla crisps, and spicy queso on a toasted sesame seed bun. Kelsie from Nebraska came up with the idea for the "Mexican Street Corn Whopper."
Customers will scan a QR code located on the wrapper of each of the three "Million Dollar Whopper Contest" sandwiches, which will redirect them to the Burger King app or website where they can cast their vote. Votes can be placed starting at 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 14 until 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 5.
