Jamie Foxx is revealing new details about the unspecified "medical complication" he experienced last year.
In an undated video circulating on social media, which was posted by accounts such as @ArtOfDialogue_, the Oscar-winning actor appeared to discuss the circumstances around the health issue, which set him on a months-long road to recovery, with some fans.
Foxx, 56, said in the video that on April 11, 2023, he experienced a "bad headache" and "asked my boy for an Advil." Then "I was gone for 20 days."
He went on, "I don’t remember anything. I’m in Atlanta ... My sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor. They gave me a cortisone shot. The next doctor said, 'There’s something going on up there.'"
Foxx pointed to his head before explaining that he wouldn't go into further details "on camera."

Jamie Foxx promised to explain health scare 'in a funny way'
In March, Foxx alluded to his 2023 health scare while accepting the producers award at the African American Film Critics Association's awards luncheon.
"Everybody wants to know what happened, and I'm going to tell you what happened, but I gotta do it in my way," Foxx said, according to a video of the speech uploaded to YouTube. "I'm gonna do it in a funny way."
Foxx also teased a return to the stage by sharing an old clip of his stand-up comedy on Instagram and telling fans he's "planning on bringing more moments" like those.
"Going to get on somebody's stage somewhere near you," Foxx wrote. "I got some jokes and a story to tell."

What happened to Jamie Foxx?
After sharing several recovery updates on Instagram, Foxx made his first major public appearance in December to accept the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements.
At the time, he revealed that he "couldn't actually walk" six months earlier.
"It feels good to be here," he said. "I cherish every single minute now. It's different. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it's tough when it's almost over. ... I saw the tunnel. I didn't see the light. It was hot in that tunnel, too; I don't know where I was going.'"
Foxx joked, "Am I going to the right place? I see the devil going, 'C'mon.'"
On April 12, daughter Corinne Foxx revealed the "Ray" actor "experienced a medical complication" and was recovering.
"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery," she wrote in a since-removed Instagram post. "We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."
Several months later, in July, Jamie Foxx posted a video on social media to prove to his fans that he was on the mend.
"I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through," he said in a July 21 Instagram post. "I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well, but I’m coming back."
He added, "It’s been tough, man; I was sick. But now I’ve got my legs under me so you’re going to see me."
